Week 1 Achievements:

  • Understood how to manage costs on AWS through:

    • Creating and monitoring Budgets in Billing and Cost Management.
  • Grasped basic IAM knowledge:

    • Differentiated between IAM Users and Groups.
    • Understood the role of Access Keys and Secret Keys.
    • Learned how to create and securely manage credentials.
  • Installed and configured AWS CLI:

    • Set up Access Key and Secret Key.
    • Configured the default Region.
    • Used basic commands to interact with AWS.
  • Practiced and reinforced knowledge through small task modules:

    • Completed several tasks for credit-incentivized accounts.
  • Understood basic VPC concepts:

    • Subnet (Public/Private).
    • NAT Gateway.
    • Route Table and routing.
  • Got acquainted with Elastic Load Balancing:

    • Differentiated between types of Load Balancers (Network Load Balancer, …).
  • Practiced deploying a basic networking system:

    • Created a complete VPC with 2 public subnets and 2 private subnets.
    • Configured Security Group.
    • Set up Route Table and mapped with EC2 instances.
  • Learned theoretical and practical concepts of secure SSH connection:

    • Understood the mechanism of Key Pairs (public and private keys).
    • Learned how to use an SSH client to connect directly to an EC2 instance.
    • Differentiated and understood other secure access methods such as using a Bastion Host or AWS Systems Manager Session Manager.
