Participating in the First Cloud Journey (FCJ) program has been an incredibly meaningful learning and working experience. Below is my honest evaluation and feedback after completing the internship:
1. Working Environment
The working environment at FCJ is highly dynamic, friendly, and innovation-friendly. Team members are open and always ready to support each other. The professional workspace allowed me to maximize my productivity while developing the mindset of a technology engineer.

2. Support from Mentor & Organizer
I received very close guidance from my mentor. Instead of providing direct answers, the mentor guided my thinking process, encouraging me to research and find solutions to challenging problems myself. The organizing team also provided great support in terms of documentation, AWS lab infrastructure, and swift resolution of administrative tasks.

3. Relevance of Work to Academic Major
My tasks in developing the Rookwork application aligned perfectly with my Software Engineering major. Designing the system architecture, configuring databases on the cloud, and writing backend/frontend code helped me realize the theoretical knowledge accumulated at university.
4. Learning & Skill Development Opportunities
This internship provided a huge leap in my professional skills: from mastering core AWS services (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Route 53) to implementing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions). Additionally, in the role of Tech Lead, I sharpened my project management, code conflict resolution, and team communication skills.
5. Culture & Team Spirit
The sense of responsibility and cohesion here is outstanding. Whether working independently or collaborating, everyone respected each other’s ideas and worked toward the common goal of delivering a high-quality product.

6. Internship Policies & Benefits
The program provides clear support policies for interns. Flexible working hours allowed me to balance completing university projects with my tasks in this project. The regular technical seminars were an excellent opportunity to learn from industry experts.
What satisfied me most during the internship:
Being given full ownership to design the system architecture and implement DevOps automation pipelines in a real-world project. Seeing the software developed by our team running smoothly on AWS cloud infrastructure was the most rewarding feeling.
What could be improved for future interns:
Organizing more team bonding activities or cross-sharing sessions between different project teams. This would allow interns to learn about the diverse technologies and solutions other teams are applying.
My recommendation for future candidates:
I would definitely recommend this program to junior students. It is an ideal environment to gain hands-on experience, learn self-research skills, and master leading Cloud services—opportunities that are rarely available to interns elsewhere.
